Third FEN Exchange on Europe’s Economic Futures
The Foresight Europe Network invites members to participate in the third FEN Exchange on Thursday, 8 January 2026 at 16:00 CET, focused on “Europe’s Economic Futures – What economic futures might Europe face?”
This Exchange offers an open space to explore diverse economic trajectories for Europe, including issues such as inequality, workforce dynamics, and alternative economic systems. Rather than promoting specific pathways or normative outcomes, the session is designed to support plural perspectives and critical reflection on how Europe’s economic futures might evolve
The January Exchange follows the second session on “Emerging Technologies” and marks the beginning of the 2026 FEN Exchange cycle. Further sessions are planned for February 12, 2026, focusing on intergenerational fairness, and March 12, 2026, exploring arts-based methods for foresight in a joint FEN/SYRIZON Exchange.
FEN Exchanges are informal, one-hour monthly sessions where members connect, share updates, and explore key topics within the European context. Futures and foresight methods and approaches are used as conversation enablers, emphasizing learning, dialogue, and exchange without requiring formal preparation. The sessions take place every second Thursday of the month at 16:00 CET.
FEN members are warmly encouraged to join the discussion and collectively sense the opportunities and challenges shaping Europe’s economic futures.
